Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R,C,I-Batavia) offered his sincere congratulations and praise to a number of officers and cadets from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in honor of West Point Day, an annual tradition in the New York State Assembly. Hawley, whose father was a World War II veteran, served seven years in the Ohio Army National Guard and U.S. Army Reserves, and is also a member of the Assembly’s Veterans’ Affairs Committee.

“I was extremely honored to recognize the cadets in attendance and Lt. General Caslen during West Point Day today in Albany,” Hawley said. “West Point is one of the finest military institutions in the world, and these brave men and women deserve our utmost gratitude for protecting our liberty and freedoms. West Point has produced U.S. Presidents, professional athletes and some of the best soldiers in our country’s history. This is one of my favorite days in Albany and I wish all the members of West Point continued success and safety.”
